About Sam Matebane

I became a coach because I climbed the corporate ladder in South Africa—and found that success didn’t come with connection. Most of the time, I felt isolated. The demands placed on me were often double what others faced, and I had to work extremely hard to prove myself. Along the way, I sought help—and that’s when I discovered the power of personal development.

Getting support changed everything for me. It planted a seed. I began to feel a deep burden to support others, especially those younger or still finding their way. I wanted to make their journey lighter, to help them improve their relationships at home and at work, and to show them that they didn’t have to suffer in silence.

I've experienced rejection, fear of not being enough, and moments of deep disrespect. I’ve been in tough, even ugly situations. One defining moment came when I had to fire 104 employees—an experience that shifted how I viewed leadership and people forever. That was my turning point.

I knew then that I needed a new mindset—not just about business, but about people. That moment started my journey into coaching, and I’ve never looked back.
